Synopsis

A remote outpost in deepest Patagonia. It is 1882, during the supposed "Conquest of the Desert," a genocidal campaign against the region's indigenous population. Increasing numbers of barbarous acts take place on all sides. Captain Gunnar Dinesen arrives from Denmark with his fifteen-year-old daughter to take up an engineer position in the Argentinean army. The only woman in the vicinity, Ingeborg stirs up excitement amongst the men. She falls in love with a young soldier, and they both run away one night. In the morning, Captain Dinesen understands what's happened and decides to venture into enemy territory to find the young couple. Land of Plenty is the story of a man's desperate quest to find his daughter, a solitary quest which takes into a timeless place where past and future have no meaning.
